If we want to power our Perch cameras through wall power, what do we use?
Perch uses 5amp 12v power supplies to power the cameras - a conservative measure of peak power draw of the camera is 40W. The nominal draw is more like 20W.
What type of tablet can I use with Perch?
Perch will work with Android or iOS tablets - the minimum required spec is Apple iOS 12.0 and above, or Android OS 6.0 and above. Screen size is not a requirement for the minimum spec, but keep in mind that the larger the screen size, the easier the interface will be to see. More details can be found here!
Can I charge my tablets through my cameras?
Tablets can be plugged in directly to the camera via a USB-A port directly above the power port. Perch will supply 10 foot cords (USB-C or Lightning) with the original sale order, or expansion. This will provide charge for the tablets, and on newer cameras, also allow data communication. If your weight room doesn't have USB capable cameras but you're interested in upgrading, please reach out to your Perch representative or to our sales team at sales@perch.fit.
What does my weight room need in terms of wifi connectivity?
Our wifi connectivity details can be found here! We are more than happy to work with IT to ensure that things are getting done properly and in a timely manner.
How should my Perch camera be mounted on my rack?
In the center of the front cross beam - the camera turns with 135 degrees of rotation, specifically so that it can capture both inside and outside of the rack. For more information, check out the guide here!
Having the device in the center of the front cross beam will be important to ensuring that you have the best data quality possible.
